Our bar cart won the Silver Utility Knife- second place for Judge’s Award for best interpretation of the

UP-Cycle theme! The evening focused on raising the most money for Habitat for Humanity. Each design team goes to the Furniture Restore in Philly in a sweep event where they have 30 minutes to gather items for the flip event. Designer teams are paired with an industry sponsor and together need to come up with a coordinated plan for working quickly the evening of making sure they bring all the necessary tools. Then the night of the event 120 minutes is permitted to physically transform your piece. 

 

The various teams’ pieces then are put up for silent auction. During the event the judges and potential buyers are walking around to see the work in progress. It is a festive atmosphere with cocktails and snacks along with the noisy backdrop of power tools!
